Anna C. Norman

Anna C. Norman, 93, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2011 in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Norman was born in 1917 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Jesse L. Carpenter and Ida S. Carpenter. She was a very active member of Round Hill United Methodist Church, were she taught Sunday school, a member of the Choir and she was also on the worship committee. She was a graduate of Handley High School Class of 1937.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eppa L. Norman, on April 30, 1977.

She is survived, by a son, James L. Norman, Five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jerry) Oliver, Katherine (Ed) Foster, Nicole Ross, Lynn (Crystal) Norman, Branden Norman, and Five Great Grandchildren, Ali Oliver, Jillian Oliver, Natalie Norman, Harrison Ross, and Heather Norman. A son, Lewis W. Norman and a sister, Frances Jenkins, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel with Pastor Pete Wadsworth officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be members of the United Methodist Men of RHUMC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel.

All the memories of Anna are very special to me.I enjoyed very much working for her and Fran they were special people.Im going to miss them a great deal.I always looked forward to go to work on saturdays and wash and curl Anna's hair for church on sunday.She really enjoyed going to church. Im so sorry that they had to leave us.I send all my love and prayer to Jim and Vicki they also are very kind people . Always extremly nice and willing to help anyone they could. Absolutely no one could give a hug like Anna Norman. When she hugged you, you could feel the love radiating from her big heart into your whole being. When I first attended Round Hill UMC in 1984 she invited me into the church, her Sunday School class, and the family that she so lovingly created there. She will always be a role model of true Christianity to me. She has a permanent place in my heart.
