Ann Marie Smith, 71 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.

Ann was born in 1954 in Waynesboro, PA the daughter of the late Gerald and Elsie Melville. She graduated from Shenandoah University with his Master’s Degree of Computer Science. Ann retired from teaching in Martinsburg, WV Public School System.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelsey Smith, son, Bryan Smith (Amanda); grandchildren, Reagan Gore and Connor Gillick and her brother, Paul.

Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Sheryl.

A memorial service will be held for Ann on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 6pm at Mountain View United Methodist Church in Star Tannery.

My deepest condolences to her family. Anne was a wonderful person. She always made me feel welcomed and loved. She will be deeply missed, I'll be praying for your family.

Treasure the memories we shared as teacher colleagues at CBJH and our luncheons at Paper Mill Place. Will truly miss our outings and phone conversations. Prayers of peace and comfort for the family.

thanks for being a mom to so many of us back in the day. thank you for giving a safe place. and understanding that deer really do kick the car. you were loved by many as we loved you. you will be missed momma bear.
