On Saturday, December 26, 2020, Ann Elizabeth Hoffman, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died at age 87.
Ann was born on September 12, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to Leo A. Murray, Sr. and Margaret A. (Doxzen) Murray. Ann trained as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore and worked in pediatrics at Union Memorial Hospital before her marriage to Albert John Hoffman, Jr. on April 11, 1959. They were married for sixty-one years and raised together three daughters and two sons.
After a seventeen-year hiatus, Ann returned to work part-time in 1977 as an R.N. in geriatrics at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD; where she worked in that capacity for over twenty years. Ann’s part-time work was dedicated to funding the college education of her children. Ann enjoyed watching sports, especially the Baltimore Orioles, and traveling with her husband and family.
Ann is predeceased by her husband, Al Hoffman; who passed away on October 22, 2020. She was the beloved sister to the late Leo A. Murray, S.J., the late Margaret Oltman, and the late Joseph Murray. Ann is survived by her five children, Aline Genuardi, Albert Hoffman III, Leo Hoffman, Elizabeth Blase, and Karen O’Connell; and her six grandchildren, Tadd, Nicholas, Emily, Abigail, Gregory, and Timothy. Due to the ongoing pandemic, services will be deferred until a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s Memory to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
