Angeline Elizabeth Yonally, 81 died Saturday, September 23 at her home in Winchester.
Angie was born in 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Moors. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in 1959. She married Gary Yonally on May 5, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA. They moved to Gary’s hometown of Ashland, Ohio and started raising a family in Ohio until 1979, when they moved to Virginia. They eventually built a home in Clear Brook, VA where they retired. They were married for 45 years.
Angie worked for Project Hope in Millwood, VA for 19 years, beginning as a banking clerk and retiring as the department manager. After retirement, she volunteered in the clothing room at CCAP, and kept her membership with the Shenandoah Region of the AACA. She was the organizer of the annual AACA car show at the MSV every July. She also loved to travel, having adventures in the US, Europe, England, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Alaska. She really enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandson in Colorado in the fall and travelling to Florida to visit her granddaughter in Florida in the winter.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, serving as an adorer in the chapel for over 20 years. She worked behind the scenes making over 1,000 rosaries for the rosary ministry.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jill Rogers (Jack) of Winchester, VA, Jenny McAuliffe (Dan) of Longmont, CO, and a sister, Carla St. John of Durham, NC. She has two grandchildren, Katie Rogers of Orlando, FL and Nathan Rogers of Denver, CO.
Preceding her in death, are her husband, Gary Yonally, her parents, and a brother, Joseph Moors Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 27 at 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. John Rossi officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Winchester.
