Amy Sue Jacob, a picture of love and godliness, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Leesburg, VA. Born to Ernest and Martha White on January 4, 1941. Amy’s life was a tapestry of the fruit of the Spirit. She embodied what it means to be a woman of God.
Amy’s journey began in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she grew up with her siblings, Joy, Bonnie, and Betty. Amy was the youngest. They lived a simple life, but one where Christ was honored, and they learned to put God first in all things.
It was on July 22, 1961, that she married John Jacob, the love of her life. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, faithfulness, and “togetherness.” Together, they raised four children: John, Joe, Jeff, and Marty, who were Amy’s pride and joy. John and Amy worked together to build a home established on faith in God and love for others.
Amy loved well. Countless people felt the love of God pouring through her hugs and gentle words. Strangers would break into tears as she led them to trust in Jesus. Nobody felt like an outcast when Amy was around. She is remembered by many for the remarkable crochet blankets she spent hours and hours working on whenever she knew someone was having a baby. Amy was a visible demonstration of the love of God.
Predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, and all her sisters. Amy is survived by her four children: John (Lynette) Jacob, Joe (Vilma) Jacob, Jeff (Cheryl) Jacob and Marty (Keith) Mullins. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
