Amy Francis Barnes Eliot, 87, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in her home.

Mrs. Eliot was born in 1923, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Hallie H. Barnes. She was a homemaker, and a pianist with the Memphis Conservatory of Music. She attended the University of Southern California and the University of Chicago.

She married Warner Ayres Eliot on February 8, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Surviving with her husband is her daughter, Kristin Eliot Benitez and her husband, Alexander, of Lovettesville, Virginia; and four grandchildren.

One brother, Thomas Clarence Barnes, Jr., preceded her in death.

All services will be private.

Local arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.
