Allen L. Cooper
Allen Lee Cooper, age 58, of Stephens City, VA died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born August 20, 1953 in Winchester, VA, he was the son of Calvin and Elizabeth “Liz” Cooper.
He attended Clarke County High School and was a 1971 graduate. He was a 1973 graduate of Lord Fairfax Community College, a 1976 and 1977 graduate of Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, D.C. He received his CPA from the state of Virginia in 1981. He was extremely proud to serve as Manager for several years of the Federal Government Division for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where he assisted with the writing of the Industry Audit Guide of Airlines in 1981. He had a host of other jobs throughout his career. He was an entrepreneur and had interests in carpentry/remodeling and sports which he shared with his brothers.
He was preceded in death by father, Calvin Cooper. He is survived by mother, Elizabeth “Liz” H. Cooper of Stephens City; brother, David Cooper and wife, Carol, of Summit Point, WV; brother, Terry Cooper and wife, Ivy, of Bunker Hill, WV; sister, Donna Simpson of Stephens City; three nephews, Bradley Cooper, Matthew Cooper and Andrew Simpson; two nieces, Tara Kackley and Marsha Cooper, as well as a great nephew and three great-nieces.
Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Inurnment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park at a later date.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. at t he funeral home.
