Allen Bruce Jobe, age 93, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at The Willows.

Allen was born in Brucetown, Virginia, to the late Frederick William Jobe and Elsie Elizabeth Jobe (Emerson). He honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, leaving Stonewall High School to enlist before later completing his GED. Following his military service, Allen built a dedicated, 30-year career in the telecommunications industry, ultimately retiring as a supervisor from Bell Atlantic/Verizon.

A true “jack of all trades,” Allen possessed an incredible ability to build or fix anything. He lived life to the fullest and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, bow hunting, fishing, and camping. He treasured traveling, bowling, playing baseball, and taking his boat out on Buggs Island and the Chesapeake Bay. He was a proud member of the Valley Bible Church and the Winchester Moose Lodge #1283.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Velda D. Jobe (DeHaven), whom he married on March 31, 1956, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Allen’s legacy lives on through his children: his daughter, Lisa Boone, and his son, Ronald “Ronnie” Jobe (Sara). He was the proud grandfather of Travis Jobe, Brandon Jobe (Jess), Triston Miller, and Emaleigh Whitacre (Ryan). He is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Marcus, and Connie Oates (Gary).

He was reunited in death by his parents; his grandson, Bradley Jobe; his great grandchild, Skylar Rose Wetzel; his brothers, Donald, Richard, Roger, and Frederick “Fred” Jobe; and his sisters, Annabelle Collins, Oneda Reid, and Mary Shenk.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park with military honors. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Round Hill Fire Department, located at 141 Spinning Wheel Lane. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Smith of Valley Bible Church.
