Allan “Big Al” L. Rusk, 80, of Frederick County, Virginia died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Blue Ridge Hospice Care Center.
Mr. Rusk was born in 1936 in Sebastopol, California, the son of the late John and Mary Rusk. He was a production manager at Fleetwood Travel Trailers, retiring in 1995. Mr. Rusk was a member of the NRA, an avid Chicago Bears fan, and enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, bowling, and crossword puzzles. He was a member of Winchester Church of God.
Mr. Rusk married Emma Lou Basler on September 15, 1953 in Porterville, California.
Surviving with his wife are sons, David and wife Debbie Rusk, Michael and wife Bonnie Rusk, and daughter, Barbara and husband Kevin Grove; grandchildren Chad Rusk (Michelle), Joel Rusk (Katie), Jason Rusk (Renee), Sarah Wright (Kevin), Hyla Morris, Valarie Rusk, Stephanie Rusk (Malcolm Eastep), Jessica Hardy (Matthew), Kevin Grove, Kyla Grove; and twenty-one great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jones (Ollie), and Donna Shamley; brothers, John Rusk (Bernice) and Gary Rusk (Stella).
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Darrell Waller officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
