Alice Mead Burton (Danard), 86, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.

Alice was born in 1937 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Eugenia Danard. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from New Haven State Teacher’s College. Alice retired as a secretary for the CIA. She loved quilting and sewing and was a member of the Quilter’s Guild. Alice enjoyed singing and performed with the Sweet Adelines in Winchester. Most of all, Alice loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Michael “Mike” T. Burton, Sr., whom she married on November 9, 1963; sons, Michael “Mike” T. Burton, Jr. (Rita), Patrick J. Burton (Paula), Russell J. Burton; grandchildren, Brittany, Devin, Allison, Michael III and Claire; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Jayde, Sophia and Natalie and brother, Howard Danard (Diane).

Alice is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Louis Danard.

A visitation will be held for Alice on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4pm to 6pm with a funeral mass on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2pm held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
