Albert “Al” Elwood Wines, 77, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born in 1940 in Front Royal, Virginia, the son of the late Albert S. and Ruby C. Wines. He was a veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of PFC E3. Al was an equipment operator with Wines Construction in Front Royal, Virginia. He was a member of the Front Royal Moose, the Eagles in Winchester, enjoyed fishing, had a reserved personality, but was always a good listener who never complained, and possessed a strong work ethic. Al attended First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal, Virginia.
Surviving is his long-time companion, Linda A. Kerns; son, Bryan S. Wines of Winchester, Virginia; stepdaughter, Jeannette “Jette” Kerns of Winchester, Virginia; grandchild, Samantha Brittain (Aaron) of Stephens City, Virginia; step-grandchild, Anderson “Andie” Kerns of Winchester, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Levi and Selah Brittain of Stephens City, Virginia; sisters, Jean Wines and Shirley Smoot of Chester Gap, Virginia, Judy Chrisman and Janet Wines of Front Royal, Virginia; and his beloved dog, Nikki.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ollie and James “Jimmy” Wines.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
