Al Richard Bolton
Al Richard Bolton, age 90, of Winchester, VA died May 21, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Bolton was born in 1922 in Brookline, MA. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Marine Corp in the South Pacific. Mr. Bolton received a Diploma of Construction Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was employed by major construction companies as On-Site Engineer on large commercial construction projects in Washington, DC and the surrounding area.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a 55 year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. Bolton was a Licensed Electrician, Licensed Steam Engineer, Certified Welder, and Qualified Hard Hat and Scuba Diver.
Mr. Bolton is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Myrtle McDonald Bolton.
He is survived by his step-sons, David Dodge and wife, Betsy, of Warrenton, VA, John Dodge and wife, Pandy, of Bowie, MD; step-daughters Judith Peterson and Suzan Dugan, both of Winchester, VA; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, step-great great grandchildren and step nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
