Adrienne Lee Hayes, 50, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on December 26, 2024, from a sudden accident in her home.
Adrienne was born to Peter and Linda Andersen in Augsburg, Germany. After living overseas during her preteen years, the family settled in Tucson, Arizona and later moved to Northern Virginia.
Adrienne graduated from Chantilly High School in 1992, she joined the Army following in her father’s footsteps but was medically discharged after sustaining an injury during basic training.
Adrienne started a career working at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly in Customer Service.
In 1998, Adrienne met Mathew Hayes while he was working in the family business John B. Hayes Tobacconist in Fairfax. Adrienne and Matt married in 2003 and lived in Centerville together. Their first son Lucas was born, they then bought a home in Winchester, where Justin was born and where they raised their sons while owning and running the family business in downtown Winchester.
Adrienne was a full-time mother to her boys into their teen years and then went back to school to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to work for Buchbauer & McGuire Law Firm in Winchester.
Adrienne was predeceased by her grandparents Olaf and Ethel Andersen. Adrienne is survived by dad and stepmother Peter and Edie Andersen, her mom Linda Andersen, her in-laws John and Cathy Hayes, her husband Mathew Hayes, her sons Lucas and Justin Hayes, and her stepbrother Daven Witt.
Services will be held at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel in Winchester on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Boy Scouts of America at www.scouting.org an organization Adrienne was involved with supporting both Lucas and Justin as they achieved their Eagle Scout rank.
