Robert A. “Bob” Zottig, 77, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home.
Mr. Zottig was born in 1941 in New York, New York, the son of the late Manrico and Elsie Zottig. He graduated from McLean High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Zottig was owner/operator of Sterling Park Hardware for more than 30 years. He was involved in Boy Scouts of America, mentored elementary school children, enjoyed fishing, gardening, and military history. Mr. Zottig was very artistic and was a man of many talents. He was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church.
Mr. Zottig married Paulette on October 13, 1969 in Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of 49 years is a son, Victor E. Zottig (Andrea Mountney) of Frederick, Maryland; daughter Vanessa M. Iskandar (Habi) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Lucas Anthony Zottig of Frederick, Maryland and soon to arrive Baby Girl Iskandar; and brother, Renard Zottig (Sharon) of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Mr. Zottig was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Zottig and a brother, Manrico Zottig.
A visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be at 1 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Aaron Fitch officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fulton, Maryland.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Clarke, Brian Grooms, Dale Grooms, Steven Frost, William Johnson, Cody Grooms, and Kevin Naecker.
