Nancy was born in 1931 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Jess Kiracofe, Sr. and Celoma LaFollette Kiracofe. She graduated from John Handley High School, Class of 1949 and represented the school as a princess in the 1949 Apple Blossom Festival. She served as Secretary and Administrative Assistant for the Winchester Parks and Recreation Department for 26 years. While there, she designed many of the facilities, being most proud of designing Christianson’s Family Land. Nancy planned, designed and worked on the Miniature Golf Course. She also taught a Stretch-a-Cize Fitness Class for the department for 33 years. Nancy was an artist, poet, avid duckpin bowler, horseshoe pitcher, and enjoyed crocheting. She loved flowers and flower gardening. Nancy was a long time member of the Berryville Baptist Church, having sung in the choir for 25 years. She was soloist there and at many other places and functions.
Nancy married Robert “Bobby” Levi on August 7, 1949 at Berryville Baptist Church.
Surviving with her husband of 68 years is a son, Gregory Levi and his wife, Mitzi; grandsons, Jason, Kyle and Ryan Levi; granddaughter, Allison L. Hagen and her husband, Mike; great grandsons, Mason and Gavin Hagen; along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Alan Levi; brothers, Jess Kiracofe, Jr. and Arthur “Artie” Kiracofe; sisters, Margaret K. Moseley, Lucille K. Norman and Betty K. Kreider.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at Berryville Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Stanley officiating. Interment will follow the service in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Virginia.
