William “Bill” M. Woody, 75, of Frederick County, VA died Friday, October 16, 2015 in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mr. Woody was born on February 6, 1940 in Marion, VA.  He was a graduate of Marion High School, Class of 1959 and a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BA in Business.  He was an Executive at Shockey Precast Group prior to his retirement in 2013.  Mr. Woody was a member of Winchester Country Club and VPI (now Virginia Tech) Alumni Chapter of Winchester.  He was an avid golfer, traveler and dog lover.  Bill was a soft-spoken Virginia Gentleman.  Many considered him a great man, a much beloved uncle and great-uncle.  Family Thanksgivings never really began until Bill and his beloved wife, Maryanna, arrived.

Mr. Woody and Maryanna Stafford (Staffordsville and Winchester) were married in 1963.  Maryanna preceded Bill in death in 2008.

Surviving is a sister-in-law, Lee (Fink) Stafford, Hudson, OH; niece, Susan S. Dilgard (George), Birmingham, MI; nephew, John Stafford (Melissa Lloyd, Mt. Lebanon; PA), Bedford, VA; great nieces, Elizabeth D. Seitz (Matthew), Basking Ridge, NJ; Meredith M. Stafford, Seattle, WA; Hillary L. Stafford, Breckenridge, CO; and great nephew, Robert Dilgard (Lea), Shorewood, WI.

A Reception and Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Tilford Room associated with Christ Episcopal Church, Winchester, VA with Rev. Webster Gibson officiating at a later date.
