Wayne B. “Poppop” Warren
Wayne Baker “Poppop” Warren, 95 of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, June 22, 2012, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, Virginia.
Mr. Warren was born in 1916, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harry and Iola Warren. He was a construction worker with Shockey Company retiring in 1980 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church and a graduate of Stephens City High School, Class of 1935. Mr. Warren was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II.
His wife, Clara Manuel Warren, whom he married on May 14, 1941, in Maryland, preceded him in death on March 2, 2009.
Surviving is his daughter, Beverley Yebernetsky and husband, Greg, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, two grandchildren, Benjamin W. Yebernetsky and wife, Audra, of Winchester, Autumn C. Yebernetsky of Hedgesville, and two sisters, Marie Stow and Kay McCullough both of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Two sisters, Averyl Combs, Dorothy Collins and one brother, Harry Warren, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, at Omps Funeral home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Clay Knick and Reverend Don Cherry officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ray Stelzl, Roger Hill, Gary Lantz, Kenny Wilson, Allen Boyd and Daryl Davison.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
