Shane Edward Rinker, 55, of Strasburg, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Born in 1970, Shane is the son of Earl and Sharon Rinker. He enjoyed exploring the outdoors, photography, and creating Christian music. His journey here on earth was one of grace, humility, and purpose, and those who knew him were truly blessed by his presence.

Shane’s life was a reflection of his belief in something greater — a faith that carried him through both joy and sorrow with strength and peace. His legacy is one of kindness, service, and steadfast love for the Lord and his family.

Though he is no longer with us in body, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and in the presence of the Lord. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate to know him.

Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Eleanor Rinker and Charles and Arlena Barbe; his uncles, Bob Barbe, Gary Barbe, Donnie Barbe, and Lee Sutherland; and his aunt, Freeda Funk.

He is survived by his parents, Earl and Sharon Rinker; his loving wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Lydia and Brianna; sons, Justin, Orion, and Andrew; and grandchildren, Brendon and Nathan. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Rinker, and wife, Debbie; aunts, Penny Sutherland and Betty Ann Rinker; uncle, Bill Barb; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held for Shane on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Joey Bott. A reception will follow.

All services will be held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

I was lucky enough to have Shane as one of my mentors when I first joined NGC. I've always appreciated his thoughtful technique to somehow explain the complicated to seem easy. During our Teams meetings, Shane would always join me when I had my camera on so I wouldn't be the only one on screen, and he always could find a way to make me laugh in times of stress. I truly miss him being on the team. Rest well, Shane...and thank you. My heartfelt condolences to his family. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I had the great opportunity to work with and get to know Shane during my time at Northrop Grumman. Shane truly was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Shane I don't know were to begin or what to say cause there are not enough words to say how much you are going to be missed. But one thing for sure is I am so glad to have had you as a brother in law. You were such a awesome and happy person to be around and was loved by all.I could keep going on and on but the space will run out on here.So I will finish by saying that I will miss you as so will your family. Please watch over Scott ,your mom and dad,Beth and the kids and the rest of your family. Please give them the strength to get through this 🙏 😢.
