I will never forget all of the little things Robert would do for us on the job. I remember when my car wipers weren't working and Robert disappeared for an hour and comes back and asks me to pop my hood. He had gone out and bought windshield wiper fluid and fixed my car for me. Or when we would do walk-throughs and I couldn't reach anything so he did all the mark up for me. I will miss him walking into my office and asking for my kit kat bars that I always hid from him. He always made me laugh even when I was upset, taught me so many new words (guy was a genius), and always helped with whatever he could. He may have come off to some as hard headed but he had such a big heart and really cared. He was more than just a coworker - he was family to us here. You are so so missed. Rest in Peace.

My thoughts and prayers go to Robert and his family. Over the years we got to know each other and had developed a relationship as most due in the construction field. I can say that we "entertained" each other at times, and had our differences, but in the end we had a friendship. You are missed my friend. Corinthians 13 4-13

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and all that knew Robert. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all experienced many emotions after finding out about Robert's next step in the universe. Robert was caring, smart, and extremely detail oriented. He was the only guy I know that read the dictionary. You could mention a word and he could define it. Amazing. When I moved to FL in 2000, Robert would invite me over for a 3 course meal followed by marathon games of pool at his home. I will miss the times spent with you my friend! They were always epic and historical. You could guarantee a great time anytime you were with Robert. God was always looking down on him and his friends. A good man lost but will never be forgotten. RIP
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

My deepest condolences goes out to the Dye family. Robert was a great friend who you could always count on to make you laugh. He touched many peoples lives and he will not be forgotten. For me I will always remember him for giving me the nickname "Super Sugar Meeks" (I guess he liked Sugar Crisp cereal).... Everytime he saw me he would say at the top of his lungs with that silly Dye- Boy smile! RIP Robert

I'm so sorry to hear of Robert's passing...This is a quote that comforted me when I lost my husband in 2009.. Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy... RIP Robert! Say hello to Gil for me... Love Deb Trowbridge

I'm at a loss for words to describe how very sad & heartbroken I am to hear of Robert's passing. He has been a very dear friend of mine (and my both of my sisters) for over 30 years! Many of my best memories from high school include him - we always had so much fun & I just can't believe he is gone :-( He was definitely one of a kind - honest, funny, sarcastic, caring and giving all at the same time! I was fortunate enough to also have business relationship with him later in life and he was always professional, ethical, intelligent and a joy to work with. My heart and prayers go out to his family. May you rest in peace my old friend....

We got to know Robert when he was supervising the building of our home in Snowden Bridge 5 years ago. He was a kind, ethical and funny guy with whom we enjoyed numerous conversations. He kept his beloved dog with him 24/7 and being animal lovers, we were impressed with his love for that dog. Robert died too young, but they say the good always die too young. We send our condolences to his family; we truly admired him and will miss him.

I just lost a great friend. An irreplaceable human being. Robert wasn't the best at sharing how much he cared about his friends, but he was the best at ACTUALLY caring about his friends. Over the nearly 25 years I've known him, he actually let his guard down a few times and showed how big his heart was. And I will never forget those moments. Actually, I probably won't - can't? - forget nearly anything he did in the time I knew him. He was a larger-than-life, one-of-a-kind personality whose humor and unique outlook on things I will miss forever. True story: Just yesterday morning I was talking with a work colleague about the importance and rarity of having true friends who would do anything for you no matter what, no matter when. I have a precious few of those people in in my life - and I have one fewer now.
