Richard “Ricky” V. Thomas

Richard Valentine Thomas, age 60, of Middletown, Virginia, died Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Inpatient Care Center of Blue Ridge Hospice.

Mr. Thomas was born in 1952 in Filbert, Pennsylvania, the son of Marie E. Kornbauer of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and the late Albert Thomas. He was employed in the Sales Department of Dale Lumber Company Inc. He is of the Christian faith. Richard was dedicated to his family, he was known for his sense of humor and his passion for politics. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Richard married Mary Susan Dale on August 2, 1972, in Drainsville, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife and mother are four daughters, Katie Varona and Rachael Thomas, both of Orlando, Florida, Susannah Landis and husband, James of Winchester, Virginia, and Maggie Thomas of Middletown, Virginia; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Moyer and husband, Michael of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Maria Steiner of Harrison City, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Albert Thomas and wife, Ewelina of Ligonier, Pennsylvania.

A sister, Diane Thomas preceded him in death.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with his sister, Carol Moyer officiating.
