Paul A. Zovak
Paul Anthony Zovak, 69, of Frederick County, Virginia, (formerly of Woodbridge, Virginia) died Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at his home.
Paul was born in 1944, in Washington, D.C. He attended Ballou High School in Washington, D.C. He married Sandra Jean Chaney on September 28, 1963, in Maryland. Mr. Zovak was a wallpaper hanger and painter with Equitable Construction in Washington D.C. retiring in 1999. He was Assistant Director and co-owner of Sandy’s Daycare in Woodbridge, Virginia. Mr. Zovak was an avid bowler. He mentored and coached kids from Bowl America of Woodbridge. He coached his girls in softball and other activities. He played Santa for family and friends for many, many years.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy of 50 years and his three daughters, Dawn Zovak Seitz (Mike Seitz) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Paula Zovak Brown (Tim Brown) of Stafford, Virginia, Nanci Zovak Buckingham of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; son, Edmund Desarro (Katie Desarro) of Madison, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tori Nicole Miller, Brandon Martin, Timothy “T.J.” Brown and fiancé, Lauren St. Dennis, Tyler Martin, Cory Buckingham, Matt Desarro, Brett Desarro; great granddaughter Emily Nicole Miller; brothers, Joseph Michael Zovak of Virginia Beach, Cary Brown of Front Royal; mother-in-law, Dolores “Nancy” Chaney of Winchester and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Crossroads Community Church, 1147 Berryville Avenue, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
