Mary Michael Taylor
Mary Michael Taylor, 95, of Laurel, Maryland, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at CR care Group, LLC in Laurel, Maryland.
Mrs. Taylor was born in 1915, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mamie G. Michael. She was a homemaker, who spent her time raising her son while her husband was on the road. She gave many hours to Centenary United Church of Christ, in Winchester, teaching Sunday School and during Christmas bazaar time where she was well known for her applesauce cake and pecan pies.
She married Charles Taylor on September 2, 1935, in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death in December 2001.
Surviving is her son, Ronald Taylor and his wife, Charlotte, of Beltsville, Maryland; two grandchildren, Nicole Roan and husband, Douglas, of Clearbrook, Virginia, Robert Taylor and wife, Kathleen, of Bowie, Maryland.
Two brothers, Julian Michael and Edwin Michael, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Barbara J. Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 10:00 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
