Lucas Matthew March, 2, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at his home.
Lucas was born in 2015, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Cheryl and Christopher R. March. Lucas courageously fought a year-long battle with cancer. He loved the alphabet, especially the letter A and enjoyed watching toddler YouTube videos. He loved to clap his hands and he loved to ride in his blue car. He attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with his family. Lucas had a beautiful smile that would light up the room.
Lucas is survived by his parents and twin brother, Bryce, all of Winchester; grandparents, Ken and Nancy Seroka of Front Royal; Linda and Michael March of Winchester; great grandfather, James Starosta of Winchester; Godparents, Erin Prokopchak of Leesburg and uncle, Greg Seroka and wife, Ilissa of Silver Spring, Maryland; aunt and uncle, Whitney March and Kyle Lawrence of Harrisonburg; and cousin, Birch Lawrence.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Margaret “Peg” and Jim March, Albert and Ivis Hughes, Mary Starosta, and Stanley and Loretta Seroka.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Friday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia. A reception will follow the interment at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher March, Ken Seroka, Michael March, and Greg Seroka.
