June Ella Heare Davies, 100, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Greenfield Reflections of Woodstock, VA.

June was born on June 3, 1923 in Berkeley Spring, WV, the daughter of the late Gracen Bryan and Opal Unger Heare. She graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 1941 and went on to attend Potomac State College in Keyser, WV. She then went on to graduate from Jefferson Medical Hospital College in Philadelphia, PA in 1944. She was employed as a registered medical technologist (ASCP) at Winchester Memorial Hospital from 1946 to 1956. June also worked at Elkins City Hospital and Kings Daughter Hospital in Staunton, VA. She was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists at that time.

June married Ernest E. Davies, Jr. on June 29, 1952 at St. Mark Episcopal Church in Berkeley Springs, WV. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1983.
She was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher, served on various committees at the church, such as the Alter Guild, greeter and volunteer at The Treasure Box of the church. June was a member of AARP and also the Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary.

June is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Skildum (Roger) of Winchester, VA; son, Robert Bryan Davies (Liz) of Madison, VA; grandchildren, Brooke Ella Davies (Eric Ffitch) of Seattle, WA, Hannah Marie Davies (Will Sonnett) of Sperryville, VA; great-grandchildren, Alton Gracen Kruse, Nakoa Bryan Kruse, Riley Zoe Sonnett and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Gertrude Willard and sister-in-law, Dorothy Simpson.

A memorial service will be held for June at Christ Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11am. Following the service, the family invites you to a time of food and fellowship at the church hall. Interment will be private. Officiating will be The Reverend Webster Gibson.
