Julia “Judy” Anita Curry, age 72, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Lynn Care Center, Front Royal, Virginia.
Ms. Curry was born in 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of the late Julian E. (Sr.) and Olive P. Brown. She attended Lord Fairfax Community College, Middletown, Virginia. She was a counselor at Grafton School, Berryville, Virginia until her retirement. Judy was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Winchester, VA and the Douglas Alumni Association, Winchester, VA. She loved music, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Judy is survived by a daughter, Lolita E. Curry of Waldorf, Maryland; a son, Clarence E. Curry, Jr. of Winchester, Virginia; two grandchildren, Qyanna E. Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio and Robert A. Davis, III of Waldorf, Maryland; three great grandchildren, Sri-Ana V. Davis, Skylar L. Smith, and Tionne M. Smith, II; five sisters, Joyce P. Green of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Sondra Weaver of Bowie, Maryland, Pamela Finley and Brenda Curry, both of Stephens City, Virginia, and Victoria Harper of Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Julian E. Brown, Jr. and Cornel J. Brown, Sr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 7th, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Aliko Mwaisela officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
