James W. “Jay” Lee
James William “Jay” Lee, 74, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Lee was born in 1937 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late John T. and Louise R. Lee. He was a repairman for Henkle-Harris Furniture until his retirement in 1999 after 37 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith, and was a former member of the Winchester Moose Lodge 1283, the Winchester Elks Lodge 867, Eagles Aerie 825 and the American Legion. He was also an avid NASCAR and professional wrestling fan. Above all his hobbies and personal interests, he loved his family and all animals.
Mr. Lee married the former Iva Willingham on September 12, 1959 in Edinburg, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Diane L. Boyce of Winchester; two grandchildren, B.J. Boyce and Jennifer Lee; four great grandchildren, Hailee Boyce, Kyleigh Parrill, Caydence Boyce and Gabriella Graham, and two sisters, Jean Lee of Millwood, VA and Mary Louise Hough of Boyce, VA.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Larry Veach officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Boyce, Mark Lowery, Bryan Crim, Jerry, Wilson, Carl Streit, Roger Swartz, Henry Julius and Barry Bowser. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Blanchfield, Lee Willingham, Garry Graham and Scott Larrick.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
