James A. “Jim” Bayliss
James “Jim” Allen Bayliss, 70, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, December 1, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Bayliss was born in 1944, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Carl M. and Vergie Bayliss. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1962. Mr. Bayliss was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam, receiving two Purple Hearts. He was the owner and operator of Jim Bayliss Realty, retiring in 2009. Mr. Bayliss was a member of Hayfield Assembly of God Church and Eagles Aerie in Winchester.
He married Barbara Virginia Hoffman on August 12, 1967, in Cumberland, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Kathy Swain, husband, Raymond, of Winchester, Jaime Bayliss of Stephens City, Rhonda Costello, husband, Larry, of Winchester and Tammy Baughman, husband, John, of Stephens City; 7 grandchildren (including Roxy the granddog) 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Rinker, Mary Mallow, Shirley Plummer; brothers, Carl E. Bayliss, Robert M. Bayliss and Charles V. Bayliss, all of Winchester.
Two brothers, Donald L. Bayliss, Phillip V. Bayliss, and C.J. (Man’s Best Friend) preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Bobby Basham officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Hayfield, Virginia.
