Glen “Shorty” Richard Luttrell, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care Center in Winchester, Virginia.

Mr. Luttrell was born in 1938 in Shockeysville, Virginia, the son of the late Harry and Annabelle Luttrell. He was a truck driver with Crider and Shockey Company, retiring in 2010 after 55 years of service. Mr. Luttrell was a member of Living Water United Brethren Church in Winchester, the Winchester Moose, Winchester Eagles Club and the Branch Mountain Hunting Club in West Virginia.

Glen loved going bowling, especially competitive duck pin bowling. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Redskins fan and Boston Red Sox fan. Family was everything to Shorty, he especially loved riding the tractor with his special boys, Gavin, Jayden and Liam. He also enjoyed going to church and spending time with his church community.

He married Margaret C. Funkhouser on October 29, 1994 in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Barbara Jean Jenkins (Garland), Linda Diane Cass (Don), Kathy Lynn Moore; sons, Ronald James Dennis (Linda) and Timothy Woodrow Dennis (Colleen); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Newcome, Lucille Heishman (Derek), Esther Grim (Mickey); and brothers, Calvin “Buck” Luttrell (Ann), Edgar “E.B.” Luttrell, Charlie Luttrell, Scotty Luttrell, Branson Luttrell and Bert Luttrell.

Mr. Luttrell was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Michael Dean and Pastor Isaac Luttrell officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garland Jenkins, Don Cass, Tim Dennis, Mickey Grim, Christopher Moore, and Ron Dennis.
