Donald “Don” Eugene Price of Clear Brook, Virginia, passed away on September 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Don was born in 1936 in Brucetown, Virginia, the son of the late Russell and Ethel Price. He attended Musselman High School and graduated from Richmond Barber School in 1959. He was a veteran, having served in the Navy in between the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Don was a barber for 58 years in the Winchester area and owned and operated Price’s Barbershop for the past 23 years. Don was quite an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, farming, and tinkering with anything involving his tractors or his farming hobbies, but Don’s family was his greatest love.
Don married Nancy Minnick on June 29, 1958 at Clear Brook Presbyterian Church. They had just recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Tommy Price (Becky) of Clear Brook, VA, Tammie Mandel (Max) of Clear Brook, VA, and Timmy Price (Kathy) of White Hall, VA; five grandchildren, Josh, William (Casey), Sara Price, Matthew (Bonnie), and Emily Price; brother, Franklin Price (Frances); sister, Peggy Corbin (Charles); and five great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Thomas Price.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Darrel Taylor and Chaplain Mark Ransom officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
