Beverly F. Wills, 88, of Winchester, Virginia, died, October 30, 2013 in the care of Blue Ridge Hospice Care Center. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Raymond P. Wills.
Beverly was born in Vandling, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Benedict A. and Frances J. McCabe.
After graduating from Olyphant High School she moved to Washington, DC to work for the Navy Department where she met her future husband who was serving in the US Navy. During his 21 years of service they lived in various areas including Key West, Florida, Charleston, South Carolina, Newport, Rhode Island and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They later settled in Annandale, Virginia and also enjoyed their country retreat in Capon Springs, West Virginia, finally settling in Winchester, Virginia.
Her interests included reading, painting, handwork and the pursuit of antiques. Beverly was a lifelong Catholic and was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish serving as sacristan for over ten years. She was also a coordinator for Eucharistic Devotion and was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She also volunteered at C-Cap and as a docent at the Lee House in Arlington, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert McCabe and sister, Valda Hayes.
Additional survivors include brother-in-law, Malcolm Wills and wife, Rachel of Lynchburg, Virginia; niece, Shelia; nephew, Michael and their mother, Rita Wills; numerous cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a Rosary being held at 5:00 PM.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
