Anna Lorraine Elliott Carper, age 82 of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Carper was born in 1933 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William P. Elliott and Harry J. and Blanche Whitacre. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Lorraine was baptized at Valley Avenue Church of Christ.
She will be forever remembered for her love of a well maintained home and her need for cleanliness and shiny things. Lorraine loved shopping for bargains with her sister Juanita. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lorraine married Roy B. Carper, Jr. on May 20, 1950 in Hagerstown, Maryland. He preceded her on death on July 27, 2012.
Surviving are her daughter, Jacalyn “Jackie” Myrick and her husband, Pete, of Winchester; her son, Roy “Rowdy” B. Carper, III and his wife, Peggy, of Manchester Maryland, four grandchildren; Jay, Joyce, Anna and Chelsea, seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Rodgers and her husband, Phil, of Stephens City, VA.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Dee Allen.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Omps, Amherst Chapel with Ministers Howard Younger and Eric Hallett officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
