Anna Lucille Coffman Strother, 77, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at her home in Spring Arbor Assisted Living.
Mrs. Strother was born in 1937, in Middletown, Virginia, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Anna Mary Coffman. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be forever remembered for her love of family, the enjoyment of large family gatherings and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her husband, Kenneth G. Strother, whom she married on January 20, 1959, preceded her in death on July 20, 1998.
Surviving is her daughter, Susan Bassett and husband, Mark of Marietta, Georgia; sons, Ray Strother and wife, Nancy, of Stephenson, Virginia, Donald Strother and wife, Ann, of Cross Junction, Virginia, Ken Strother and wife, Cindy, of Winchester; 8 grandchildren; RJ, Maggie, Aaron, Sarah, Amanda, Megan, Alex and Kaitlin; 3 great grandchildren; Hunter, Sierra and Ava; and sister, Betty Funkhouser of Winchester; two honorary grandchildren, Katie and Andrew Whitmire who held a special place in her heart.
One brother, James Coffman and grandson, Matthew Bassett, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Mr. David A. Owings officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
