William Glenn Heavner, Jr., 69 of Winchester VA, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Bill was born in 1955 in Winchester, the son of the late William Glenn Heavner and Opal Katherine Grapes Heavner. He was a high school graduate who went on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Potomac State and Shepherd College. Bill retired as a West Virginia School System Principal. He was a member and the organist for 30 years at Opequon Presbyterian Church and was involved in The Winchester Little Theater.

He married Patricia “Pat” Clausner on August 12, 1978, in Slanesville, WV.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Jacob William Heavner (Amanda), Benjamin Joseph Heavner; grandchildren, Christopher Jacob “CJ” Heavner, William “Will” Thomas Baker; sister, Nancy Heavner; former son-in-law, Shawn Baker and 15 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Katherine “Katie” Baker and his brothers, Ralph, Linden, Robert, Roger and Donald Heavner.

A Memorial Service will be held for Bill Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11am at Opequon Presbyterian Church with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
