William E. Stine, Jr.
William E. “Billy” Stine, Jr., age 72, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center.
Billy was born in 1941, the son of the late William E. and Mary S. Stine, Sr. He was a graduate of John Handley High School. He was employed by Fleetwood Travel Trailers of Winchester, where he was their Purchasing Manager until his retirement in 2001. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Billy was a past President of the Judge’s Athletic Association and was inducted into the Hunter Maddex Hall of Fame. After retirement, Billy enjoyed meeting his friends on Wednesday mornings at McDonald’s Coffee Club. He was a very dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Billy married Ann Bromley on June 8, 1963, in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Stine and wife, Tina, of Winchester, VA, and Edward C. Stine of Winchester, VA; two grandchildren, Elijah and Ella Stine, both of Winchester, VA; three sisters, Sylvia Wadsworth and husband, Tony, of Wilmington, NC, Virginia “Gigi” Vranian and husband, Ed, of Richmond, VA, and Maria “Mimi” McComb and husband, Bruce, of Tappahannock, VA, and one brother, Walter “Barney” Stine and wife, Tricia, of Stephens City, VA.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
Services and interment will be private.
