Warner “Chico” June
Mr. Warner Vern “Chico” June, age 73, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, November 30, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center. Mr. June was born in 1939 in Fostoria, MI, the son of the late Clarence June and Edith Davis. He was the owner and operator of WJ Produce. Mr. June was a veteran having served with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
# 3715 of Kennett, MI, the Winchester Moose Lodge #1283, and the National Watermelon Association. He was an avid golfer and a champion in backgammon. Chico loved horses, and he loved his puppies Snowflake, Sara Sue, and Sable.
He married Joyce Ann Jenkins on April 5, 2007 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Selena M. Younce of Grand Blanc, MI and Jaycee J. Colles of Fayetteville; NC, one granddaughter; one grandson, Luke Wood; five sisters, Georgia Heinbuck of Lapeer, Michigan, Joan Hawley of Beaverton, Michigan, Geraldine Studebaker of Burton, Michigan, Joyce Parkins of Jacksonville, Florida, and Charlotte McAvon of New Tazwell, Tennessee; and four brothers Virgil June of Naples, Florida, Dale June of Lapeer, Michigan, Milford June of Davison, Michigan, and Rodney June, also of Davison, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Davis and by three sisters and ten brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 4 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Daniel Agnew officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Boone, Jr., Roger Edward Jenkins, Steve Shatzer, Mike Rankin, Larry McFarland, and Richard Fogle. Honorary pallbearer will be Herman Garrison.

A special thank you to the local Chili’s Bar and Grill for all their help. This was Warner’s favorite gathering place to meet his family and friends.
A luncheon will be held at Warner and Joyce’s home following the graveside ceremony.
