Virginia L. Shirley

Virginia Lee Shirley, 81, of Winchester, Virginia died Monday in Apple Manor Assisted Living.

Mrs. Shirley was born in 1930 in Winchester, Virginia the daughter of the late Layton and Elsie Fogle. She was a homemaker and attended Old Bethel United Methodist Church.

Her husband, Harry Shirley, whom she married on October 1, 1947, preceded her in death in 2001.

Surviving is a son, Terry Shirley of Stephens City, Virginia and a daughter, Susan Dillard of Tennessee; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Victor Gomez officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Bethel United Methodist Church, 560 Old Bethel Church Road, Winchester, Virginia 22603.
