Virginia Goldie Booth, 90 of Stephens City, VA passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Lynn Care in Front Royal.
Goldie was born in 1935 in Winchester, VA the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Parkinson) Dellinger. She worked as a waitress at The Camelot Restaurant in Stephens City and retired from working in the cafeteria at Bass Hoover Elementary School. Goldie loved cooking, making apple butter, singing and going for rides through the mountains, especially going to the Tennessee Walking Bridge in Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of the Methodist Women’s Ladies Aide and bowling leagues at Northside Lanes. Goldie also loved attending concerts by Gospel Quartets.
She married John H. Booth on May 21, 1954, in Winchester, VA and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2002. John served in the Korean War in the US Navy on the destroyer Kenneth D. Bailey as a gunner’s mate.
Goldie is survived by her daughters, Debra Lynn Booth Ruths (Bud) of Cleveland, TN, Kimberly Joy Booth Vance (Aaron) of Star Tannery, VA; sons, John S. “Johnny” Booth of Martinsburg, WV, Keith Allen Booth of Strasburg, VA; grandchildren, Ginger Rae Booth Matthews of Stephens City, VA, Mindy Michelle Booth Bates (Ben) of Inwood, WV, Kevin Craig Booth of Stephens City, VA, Tiffany Nicole Ruths Snow (Aaron) of Augusta, GA, Isaac Howard Ruths of Cleveland, TN, Brandon Keith Spaid (Brittny) of Toms Brook, VA, Stephen Uriah Booth of Mauretown, VA, Adam Shane Booth of Inwood, WV; great-grandchildren, Brailey Michelle Spaid, Bryson Keith Spaid, Bristol Elaine-Joy Spaid; sister, Barbara Lee Hawkins of Winchester, VA and her brother, Phillip Brondel Dellinger of Winchester, VA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cathy Booth, granddaughter-in-law, Cassaundra Booth; grandson, Aaron Malachi Booth; sister, Audrey Jeanette Cooley and brother, William “Billy” Dellinger.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A service will be conducted on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11am at Fairview Church. Interment will be in Fairview Church Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be at the church following the interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Goldie to Fairview Church, 1132 Double Church Rd., Stephens City, VA 22655. Officiating will be Pastor John Lock.
