Vincent R. “Bob” McGregor, Sr.
Vincent Robert “Bob” McGregor, Sr., 85, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. McGregor was born in 1926, in Queens, New York, the son of the late Paul M. and Clara E. McGregor. He was a retired Supervisor with TWA (Trans World Airlines) having served for over 45 years. Mr. McGregor was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Winchester, Virginia. In addition he was a retired Volunteer Firefighter and a charter member of the Hamilton Rescue Squad.
His wife, Margaret Joan Austin McGregor, whom he married on July 2, 1949, in the Bronx, New York, preceded him in death on February 29, 2004.
Surviving is his daughter, Patricia Drahos; son, Vincent McGregor, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, all of Winchester, Virginia, six grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Helen A. McGregor.
Two brothers, Paul and John McGregor and one great grandson Jake Drahos, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 AM, at the church.
