Victoria (Vicky) Catherine Di Lorenzo, age 91, of Winchester, VA, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2013.
Victoria Catherine Di Ambrosio was born in Camden, NJ, in 1922 to the late Anna and Salvatore Di Ambrosio. After graduating from high school in 1939, she worked for the Department of Civil Engineering in Washington, DC. She married Anthony J. Di Lorenzo in 1946, where they were stationed in California, Japan and Germany before making their permanent home in Rockville, MD. They were married for 54 years and raised 6 children. She was first and foremost a homemaker, followed by many interests/passions and volunteer services including, St. Mary’s (Rockville, MD) Sodality, Ladies of Charity and her cake decorating business. She worked at the Board of Elections and proudly supported her husband’s many US Navy and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association endeavors.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony J. Di Lorenzo, Sr. in 2001.
She is survived by her beloved children and grandchildren. Paul Di Lorenzo (Mary) Winter Springs; Anthony Di Lorenzo (Anne) Auburn, PA; Marie Di Lorenzo (Thomas Marfing) Winchester, VA; John Di Lorenzo (Joyce Fuller) Longwood, FL, Michael Di Lorenzo, Rockville, MD; Nina Di Lorenzo (John Bart) Leesburg, VA; 11 grandchildren: Amy Di Lorenzo of Santa Monica, CA; David Di Lorenzo of West Chester, PA; Robert, Kevin, & Erin Di Lorenzo of Auburn, PA; Nicholas, Spencer & Dallas Marfing of Winchester, VA and Helena, Giuliana, & Matthias Bart of Leesburg, VA. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Jenny DeAngelo (Binghamton, NY); Katie De Lorenzo (Rome, NY); Josephine Di Lorenzo (Endicott, NY), and many nieces and nephews.
One brother, John Di Ambrosio, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Brendan Bartlett officiating. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Rockville, Maryland.
