Vada Pearl Michael Bowman, 93, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Bowman was born in 1921, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy L. and Pearl Michael. She was a graduate of Gainesboro High School. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker who loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, loved flowers, needlepoint work and was a great baker. Mrs. Bowman attended Hebron Baptist Church in Gore, Virginia.
She married Ralph Linwood Bowman in February, 1959. He preceded her in death in November, 1995.
Her first husband, William Roe, preceded her in death in 1946.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathryn R. DeHaven and husband, Walter, Jr. of Winchester; two sons, Michael L. Bowman and wife, Debbie, of Alexandria, Virginia, Wayne S. Bowman and wife, Amanda, of Walkersville, Maryland; five grandchildren, Lanny DeHaven and wife, Melissa, of Winchester, Emily S. Bowman of Walkersville, Maryland, Matthew R. Bowman of Alexandria, Daniel S. Bowman of Walkersville, Maryland and Nicholas S. Bowman of Alexandria, two sisters, Reva Green and Etta Smith and husband, Earl, all of Gore, Virginia; brother, Loyd Michael and wife, Alyce, of Winchester, brother-in-law, David Mason of Yellow Springs, West Virginia, sister-in-law, Molly Michael of South Carolina.
One granddaughter, Angela L. DeHaven, grandson, Woody DeHaven, two sisters, Naomi Mason, Grace Parish and two brothers, Ray Michael (Esther) and Willis Michael, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday at Mount Hebron Cemetery with Reverend Louis Whitford officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lanny DeHaven, Matthew Bowman, Nicholas Bowman, Daniel Bowman, Craig Roe, and Walter DeHaven, Jr.
