Tracy M. Thayer was born in 1942, first of three children, in Cleveland, OH. Her family moved to Muncie, IN when she was 12 years old. She attended school in Muncie and completed her education by graduating from Ball State University in 1964 as a teacher. During her career, she was an elementary school teacher as well as a school librarian. In 1981, she married Youngstown, OH native James Robert “Bob” Collier. They lived in Colorado and Maryland prior to moving to Winchester in 1997. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, taking care of her goldendoodle Barkley, and never missed an opportunity to be with friends or family.
Tracy was predeceased by her husband in 2014 and her brother Stephan in 2021.
She is survived by her brother Stuart, nephew Michael, and stepchildren David, Jennifer, and Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 1pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
