Tommy C. Kelly

Tommy Clay Kelly, 52, of Fauquier County, VA, formerly of Stephenson, VA, died Tuesday, December 03, 2013 in Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA.

Mr. Kelly was born in 1961 in Cape Charles, Virginia, the son of Tom and Jency Kelly of Stephens City, VA. He was Scheduler/Planner for Fairfax Water until his retirement in 2010 after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Chantilly High School.

Mr. Kelly married Patricia “Trisha” Buracker Kelly on October 10, 1981 in Sterling, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife and his parents is a daughter, Nikki Kelly Holliday and husband, Craig of Capon Bridge, WV; a granddaughter, Haleigh Grace Holliday, a grandson, Nathaniel Bryce Holliday, and a brother, Steven Kelly and wife, Diane, and their daughter, Taylor of Sterling, VA and his two beloved pets, Bailey and Brodie.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.

Tommy was the eldest son, a big brother, Devoted husband, loving father/ grandfather and a friend to many. But to me, Tommy was not only my cousin, he was like a brother I never had, and mostly Tommy was my Hero! I have many precious memories when we were kids like going to the beach and him giving me a piggy back ride becuase the sand burned my feet. Giving me 2 nick names that 'stuck'. As adults letting my drive his BIG truck, & taking me for a ride on his Harley. Tommy, I will cherish the time we spent together that day and night at the hospital during your last hours here on this earth. After praying with Tommy, the Lord gave me peace about his decision to accept Jesus as his personal savior some time ago. To my Aunt Jency, Uncle Tom, and Cousin Stevie - We will get thru this Together with the Lord's guidance & strength. Tommy, I love & miss you. When we are reunited, I will see you with your Brand new ,HEALTHY and perfected body. Your little cousin from W.V. Rosie.

May God continue to bless this family, as He has through the life of Tommy. Our family watched Nikki 'grow-up' across the street. Thank you all for being wonderful neighbors for more than 20 years! I can honestly say to Trish, Nikki and Steve - I know what you have gone through, and with what, you will continue to deal. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly - I can only imagine! I do know Tommy had a great love for all his family, as they did him! It was always very evident in the 'comings and goings' of all of you! I will continue to keep this family in my prayers, and in doing so, will continue to say "thank you, God, for Tommy's life".

I thank God that Tommy is no longer in pain and he suffers no more. I rejoice in knowing that he is now warm and surrounded by beautiful beautiful flowers, perhaps reunited with some loved ones. What a peace and promise we have when we know Jesus. Tommy ALWAYS held a special place in my heart. Long ago, in my new career of real estate, Tommy and Trish trusted and allowed me to sell them 2 houses! It was in those hours and days of riding the roads together that we talked and shared life - our hearts bonded forever. It warms my heart to know how much God loved Tommy. He gave him wonderful loving parents..... an amazingly loving and devoted wife who sacrificially gave. God blessed Tommy with Nikki and a beautiful granddaughter too ~ Haleigh - HE IS LOVED BY SO MANY. Tommy you are missed but never forgotten and we are thankful for the assurance we will see you again in the Heavens! LOVE U. Joy
