Mike Peters left a message on July 7, 2023:
Mrs. Donavan, Jackie if I may, my name is Mike Peters and I just learned of Tim’s passing this date. I am so very sorry for his passing. Over the last six years or so, Tim and I corresponded by email and occasionally by phone. I was a “rook” in Captain Donavan’s K Company in 1961. Tim’s leadership was obvious to me as an 18 year old, and many of the lessons he both taught and demonstrated to us way back then served us through life. Because of circumstances I could not control, I did not graduate from Norwich. However, in my two years there, because of Tim, I carried the American flag in the color guard and became a cadet corporal. I was also in the top ten in military science, and Tim’s encouragement was greatly responsible. I graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. and an M.A. in English, and went on to an MBA from the Wharton School. I did not hear from Tim again until I called him about 6 years ago. He remembered me well, and our friendship was easily renewed. I want to apologize for the lateness of my condolence. I fully intend to donate a sum to St. Jude in Tim’s name. Please contact me anytime. I would be happy to share memories of your wonderful husband from all those years ago. God Bless. May Tim rest in peace with the other heroes of our Country in Arlington.

Rest in peace my old friend. We had some interesting rides back to school from Bristol through North Hampton, White River Junction to Northfield. You had great memories of growing up on Farmington Ave and had many friends who admire you heroic service to our country. I will always remember our hug at the Boston Naval Yard. Phi Alpha Brother. Joe (Tony) Sjogren.

Lawrence Root left a message on January 28, 2023:
Tim did me great favor when I was rook in 1960 at Norwich. I had a bad case of poison ivy and he, in keeping with the goal of busting out rooks, refused to let me see a nurse. I got through that, but in sophomore year he helped set me up for some serious discipline. Then I saw the light and thanks to DRs Hart and Cushing made the dean list and transferred away from cannon fodder U. Joined USAF ROTC and had six great years in USAF. Thanks Tim you saved from being an 01 in the Infantry set to Nam'.
