Tilden E. Strosnider
Tilden Edward Lee Strosnider, 83, of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Strosnider was born in 1927, the son of the late John and Bessie Strosnider. He grew up in Stephens City. Mr. Strosnider owned and operated a beef cattle farm in Stephens City, Virginia. Farming was one of his many passions as well as gardening and fishing, when he had the time. Farming was all he knew and he made a living out of it to provide for his family.
He married Frances Dyke on April 5, 1947, in Edinburg, VA. He enjoyed 60 glorious years until her passing in 2007.
Surviving is his son, Tilden E. “Eddie” Strosnider and his wife, Nancy; daughter, Kay Lafollette and husband, Harry, Jr. all of Stephens City, VA; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren.
2 brothers, Elmer and Ralph Strosnider and 1 step grandson, Rusty Alkire preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Mr. David Lambert officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Stephens City, VA.
Pallbearers will be Leon Strosnider, Scott Strosnider, Marshal Snapp, Billy Staples, Brooke Staples, Mike Manuel, David Manuel and Dennis Manuel,
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bauserman, Terry Livermore, Jeremy Livermore, Chris Riley, Brandon Bosley and Doug Powers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
