Thomas E. “Tom” Sickles, 82, of Greenbackville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Tom was born in 1937 in Washington, Pennsylvania, son of the late Thomas H. and Sarah E. Sickles. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Tom enjoyed watching auto racing and loved his pets. He was a caring friend and all-around people person. Tom was an avid storyteller who enjoyed get-togethers with friends and family. He was known for his genuine smile and great head of hair. Tom had a strong faith and became a member of SonRise Church in his later years. He was a proud father who adored his two wonderful granddaughters.

His wife, Myra Elizabeth Sickles, whom he married in 1960 in Washington, Pennsylvania, preceded him in death in 2005.

Surviving is a daughter, Tina Share (Steve) of Winchester, Virginia; granddaughters, Jennifer and Hilary Share both of Winchester, Virginia; sister, Sarah Ruth Miles (Glenn) of Washington, Pennsylvania; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, Tom is preceded in death by brothers, Norman “Sonny” Sickles, James “Jim” Sickles, and John “Jack” Sickles.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
