Terry Iden Wisecarver, 69, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was born in 1948 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Oliver Love and Sarah Josephine Wisecarver. He attended James Wood High School and Lord Fairfax Community College earning a certification in Plastic Processing. Terry retired from Newell Rubbermaid in 2010 after 34 years of service. He attended the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Terry married Virginia “Bunny” Wisecarver on September 23, 1967 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Terry and Bunny celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Together they made a great team in all endeavors, and Bunny was his only caregiver throughout his 2-1/2 year battle with cancer.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Bunny, and their two daughters, Tracie Wisecarver (Patrick) Ferguson and Lisa Wisecarver (Todd) Robertson. Terry was blessed with four grandchildren: Spencer Andrew Ferguson, Elizabeth Anne Ferguson, Alyssa Madison Robertson and Kelsey Elizabeth Robertson; as well as two brothers and five sisters.
Along with his wife, children and grandchildren, Terry will be sorely missed by his twin brother, Gary Jacob Wisecarver. As twins they shared a special bond and they also chose to be best friends all their lives.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Terry will most be remembered for his desire to truly give of himself in the service of others. His faith was not a belief to be held but a work of actions throughout his life.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating, assisted by Pastor Jeff Barbour. Interment will be private in Old Stone Cemetery. A fellowship meal will follow the service at Church of the Good Shepherd, 645 Berryville Avenue, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Jason Wisecarver, Gary Jacob Wisecarver, Randolph Sloane, Ron Nelson, Todd Robertson, and Patrick Ferguson.
