Susan W. Carter Susan Wynne Carter slipped quietly from this earth on Monday, January 21, 2013, after a courageous and valiant battle with complications associated with cancer. Susan smiled always. Suan was truly a breath of fresh air! We will never forget her description of our relationship when asked by someone how she knew us. She described us as "friends-in-law". Her daughter-in-law Wendy and our daughter-in-law Kendra are sisters. Although we had the prvilege of knowing Susan for only a few years, each moment spent with her was memorable and is now made even more precious by her passing. Whether by her glowing smile (with which she greeted EVERYONE), her infectious sense of humor or her down-home gracious Southern charm Susan was always a delight to be around. We are thankful that we had the privilege of being her friend and are grateful for the love and many smiles she brought into our lives. We are so proud of the courageous battle she fought. Our hearts are broken for Walt and her family but we know that with God's grace and with Susan's love in their hearts, they will weather this storm as she would have wanted. Rest well, sweet friend. You have earned it. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones" Psalms 116:15 Wayne and Carol Grabowski

I knew Susan for over 50 years. She was one of the most humorous, realistic and embracing people I ever knew. She was the center of family and friends and bore the ups and downs of life with pragmatism and a smile. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. I will remember her with love. She was my sister in law. Brenda MacBaisey
