Susan Virginia Larimer, 73, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Winchester Medical Center.
Miss Larimer was born in Winchester, VA, in 1943, the daughter of the late Robert S. and Margaret A. Larimer. She graduated from John Handley High School, class of 1961. She then went on to attend Longwood School for a year in Southern Virginia. She worked as a clerk typist for the Winchester Health Department, as a clerk stenographer for Lord Fairfax Community College, and she retired from Belk, having worked as a saleswoman. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City with friends and baking famous chocolate chip cookies. Susan enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunco. She loved her cat, Cassie, and was very thankful over the last year for her caretaker, Mabel Stevers, who went above and beyond in her care.
Miss Larimer is survived by her sister, Margaret Fisher (Nelson), of Woodstock, VA, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as by her beloved cat, Cassie.
Ms. Larimer was preceded in death by her two sisters, Nancy E. Larimer and Mary J. McDonald.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
