Such a sweet and influential lady. She was a treasure to all JWHS
I was Susan's pastor in the early 1970s. A lovely young woman we'll never forget. Deepest sympathy to her family & friends.
What a beautiful soul. I’m so saddened to hear of such a huge loss. Susan was our favorite sub and I always loved catching up with her about the boys and , more recently, grandchildren. She so loved her family.
Susan was always thinking of others, kind and considerate. I shared many wonderful conversations working with her over the years at James Wood and then Millbrook. My heart goes out to you and your family during this time of loss. Prayers and God be with you.
Susan was my favorite substitute teacher. My students loved her and she was always so sweet and nice to talk to when I saw her in school or outside. She will really be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
Mrs. Haines was always there with a smile and a kind word for everyone she met at Millbrook High School. She was adored by the students and always took the time to ask them about their day and how things were going. She will be missed by all the students and staff she cared for and took the time to know during her many years as a sub.

My family and I send our deepest sympathy to the Hudson family. I remember as a child, my grandmother, Lucille Hardesty Trenary, would take us to visit Scott, Susan and the family in Berryville. It was always a fun trip as we would visit Jack and Carter's farm also. Peace and love to you.
Susan always had a smile on her face when we saw her at church. She had such a beautiful singing voice. Susan will be greatly missed. We are so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Haines was my all time favorite substitute. She was so sweet and kind, and always had a smile on her face. I’m going to miss seeing her everyday at school at just hoping that when we have a sub it’s her.
Our hearts are saddened when a loved one passes, but our heart celebrates that she is truly being comforted in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and proclaimed. In the end, death will be swallowed up by Savior as the Scripture says. I share your grief, truly.
I’m sorry for your loss! More than being a great substitute teacher, she was a very sweet and caring lady. The students liked her because of her kindness! RIP ?
Susan was a kindly grandmother figure to the students and staff. They loved conversing with her because she was always encouraging and positive. When my students would ask who was going to be their substitute teacher, they would always respond, "I love Mrs. Haines!" She always left wonderful notes about how good the students were and how much she enjoyed the classes; I knew she truly meant it. When we crossed paths in the halls, I always enjoyed conversations with Susan; her warmth was contagious and you couldn't help but be drawn in to discuss family, which mattered so much to her. She communicated her love of her family and always expressed interest in my family through the years. It was a lasting connection that I appreciated and grew from. The memory of Susan will remain in the halls, at duty desks, outside classroom doors, and in our hearts. Rest in peace, Susan.
What a grief/relief time to know where your soulmate is presently residing!!!
May your memories be everlasting and your grieving period be short!!
Jerry and I will miss sweet Susan walking our neighborhood, as well as her entering the church door where we welcomed people coming for Sunday service. She was always very happy and had a smile for us. Never in a hurry on her walks and always had time to visit. We will miss her, but we rejoice that she is with the Lord now.
We will miss seeing Susan in the neighborhood. It was always a pleasure to chat with her. My deepest condolences to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss, but it is comforting to know that she is with our father in heaven. I have fond memories of Susan singing and taking us places after church on Sundays; the bowling alley in Winchester sticks in my mind. She was truly a kind and giving person just like all of the women in her family. I am sorry that she had to leave you too soon, but I hope you are comforted in knowing of her strong faith.
So sorry for your loss I used to do her hair at the beauty shop she was a gray lady and will be missed greatly

Mrs Haines made coming to school a better place. There was nothing else like walking in to a class and having the excitement and happiness because she was the sub. Best of luck to the family❤️

Mrs. Haines had one of the most heartwarming smiles and sunniest dispositions. She was a joy to have as a substitute in high school French. My condolences to the Haines family and god bless.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Susan’s family and friends. She was a classmate of ours growing up in Clarke County. We both remember how musically gifted she was and shared her talents with our class throughout the years. Susan was always so kind and thoughtful to everyone. She will surely be missed by her family and dear friends. Blessings to all during this challenging time in your lives,

Prayers of peace for the family. We will miss Susan's kind disposition. Her love of God, family, teaching, music and cats will be held fondly in our hearts. We were blessed to have been neighbors for 15 years in Stephens City.
She was and always will be my favorite substitute teacher. I remember all the times when I would see her at bathroom duty and we would talk for a very long time. She was the sub for my spanish class many times and everyone loved her and I loved hearing her stories about her playing Piano. One time, I got so caught up talking to her that 20 minutes went by and my lunch was about to be over; but i did not care because I would rather have such an amazing conversation with her than eat lunch with my friends. Every day when I walk by her she always had a smile on her face and she would always be greeting people and complimenting everyone. She truly was a very bright soul. May she rest In The Lord’s arms.
I’m so sorry for your loss. The news of her passing came as a total shock and punch to the gut for me. At Millbrook, Mrs. Haines was considered amongst the students as our “grandmother away from home” because of how sweet, kind and friendly she was. One of my awesome conversations with her was about music. I told her how I’m in band and that I love playing saxophone; she was so happy to hear my love for music and shared her wonderful time of piano playing throughout her life. I was so happy to see that she still had a love for piano— normally people move on to new hobbies, but that was one that she absolutely loved. I’m going to miss her so much. I know how much she meant to you, and I’m very sorry for your loss.
Mrs Haynes had one of the sweetest souls and left the greatest impact on her students, including me. I will never forget how she could sit there for hours talking about her wonderful family and asking about mine. She will forever be missed by her students and in our hearts forever. My condolences go out to her family for losing such an amazing woman. She loved you everyone more than anyone could know.
I remember helping her find her classes all the time. Such a sweet soul FCPS lost a good one. R.I.P Mrs. Haines.

I bed ms Haines as a substitute teacher for my 12th grade math class quite often and she was always sharing funny stories and including everyone in happy conversation. She will be missed.

Sweet Susan, now singing with the angels and in the presence of the Lord she gave her life to and loved so much. My prayers for comfort and the peace that our Father gives, for her mother, Ann, extended family, husband Steve and sons, as they mourn her loss.. May they know her joy that is now complete, living in the kingdom.
