Sue Dennis Travers

Sue Dennis Travers, 59, of Crestview, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Okaloosa Medical Center, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in 1952, in Charlestown, W.V.

She was preceded in death by her father Donald Dennis.

Sue is survived by her husband of 41 years, Scott Travers; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Roy McClanahan, of Winchester, VA; her son, Scott Jackson Travers, Jr., of Los Angeles, CA; her stepmother, Jeannette Dennis, of Crestview; her mother, Margaret Baker, of Winchester, VA; two brothers, David Dennis of Chambersburg, PA, Loring “Buster” Cain, of Winchester, VA ; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Russell Brill, of Stephens City, VA; Lynda and James Hoffmaster, of Bunker Hill, WV, Kimberly and Steve Ruschmer, of Slidell, LA; two granddaughters, Gena Kniceley and fiancé, Craig Smedley, of Fort Walton Beach, Fl and Taylor McClanahan of Winchester, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Larry and Carol Adkins.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Sue was not only family she was a friend. We went to shool together from the sixth grade until graduation. I still remember when she and Scott were married. They were very happy together for over 40 years. Sue will be missed by all but in reality she will always be with her family. My thoughts and prayers go out to Scott and their children.

The depths of sorrow we cannot tell, Of the loss of one we loved so well; And while she sleeps a peaceful sleep, Her memory we shall always keep.
